Workshops and Tutorials

PROFES will host workshops and tutorials that will complement and enhance the main conference program, offering a wider knowledge perspective around the conference topics.

Workshops and Tutorials are expected to be in tune with the topics of interest of the conference. Workshop or tutorial proposals on interesting topics related to ongoing research or industrial projects are welcome. Tutorials and workshops are either half or full day. Accepted tutorials can be documented in short summary papers (4 pages) which will be published in the main conference proceedings. Papers that will be accepted for the workshops will be also published in the main conference proceedings. The maximum length of workshop papers is 12 pages.
Please use the following format for workshop proposals:

  • Title (including acronym or short title)
  • Name, biography and contact information of workshop organisers
  • Abstract (max. 200 words), suitable for publication on the conference web site and inclusion in conference registration materials
  • Description, to be used for evaluation, including theme, goals, relevance and format
  • Target audience and desired number of participants (minimum and maximum)
  • Paper selection procedure and publication (organisers have the option of publishing accepted workshop papers in the main conference proceedings, Springer LNCS format)
  • Special Requirements, such as facilities, equipment, and materials, if applicable

Please use the following format for tutorial proposals:

  • Title (including optional short title)
  • Name, biography and contact information of tutorial presenter(s)
  • Abstract (max. 200 words), suitable for publication on the conference web site and inclusion in conference registration materials
  • Description, to be used for evaluation, including (1) covered topics, (2) learning objectives, (3) tutorial format
  • Intended timeframe (half or full day) and tentative agenda
  • Target audience, prerequisites and desired number of participants (minimum and maximum)
  • Special requirements, such as facilities, equipment, and materials, if applicable

Proposals should be prepared using the Springer LNCS template and sent via email in PDF format to both Workshop Chairs:

Please include “PROFES 2017 Tutorial [or Workshop] Proposal” in the Subject field.
If you are proposing several tutorials/workshops, please send each proposal in a separate email.
